Each participating country is represented by only one institution. Said institution may be the national agency for science and technology, a university, a national library, a scientific information institute or any other institution that develops activities related to the System, and that is interested in joining LATINDEX.
Institutions interested in joining LATINDEX may communicate directly with the general coordination of the System through the following email address latindex@servidor.unam.mx.
It is not necessary for the parties to sign a contract or an agreement. The only condition is to supply a letter that states the intention of joining LATINDEX, signed by an authority of the interested institution. Said setter must be sent to the general coordination, whose address appears in this website under the option “Organization of the System – Credits and responsibilities”.
The general coordination will answer by sending a letter of acceptance, attaching the instructions for the petitioner to join the compilation works regarding the various LATINDEX information products. It is important for the petitioning institution to be competent enough and to have the minimum resources necessary to carry out said compilation works and to keep the databases duly updated.
